I'M HOME! And I miss my Roomie!!

Wow! This last 2 weeks of school really flew by!
It was Great!!! Liz went through a hard break-up but is doing better now. like a lot better!
Now let's talk about my last week in Maryville. That friday we got together with Josh, the one from my Psych. class. Just to hang out for a bit. Well we got to meet Josh's roommate Cody, and the whole gang they hang out with. Turns out we all get along pretty dang well! The next day my parents came for a weekend visit. Right after they got here we had a Tornado! It was right behind my building too!! So we all ran down to the basement twice! In between the alarms Liz's Mom, Sister, and Best friend Alicia showed up. She new her Mom and Sister were coming but had NO clue Alicia was and it was exciting! We all went to different places to eat lunch. But after Liz's Mom and Alicia left Amanda( Liz's sister) got to stay. We all went swimming with my family and then went to Napolis after. It was yummy. We finally got back to the dorm at like 9:15 at night and in record breaking time took showers, got dressed, did hair and make-up, and then ran across campus. We went out that night. It was way way worth it! I played mother hen and took care of everyone, but still had soooooooooo much fun!
My family came to church with me the next day and Sarah was in my class. Which was good. It actually was Branch Conference so I only had my class for 30 mins! We made foot prints and put them on the wall walking towards Jesus. Awesome Right?
After Church was the Potluck which was good, minus me dropping my dessert and having Jackson clean it up. That was great.

Then Liz and I hung out with the boys later that night. It was great! They are so awesome and Sweet every night they walked us back to Millikan. (They live across campus)
We Hung out with them every night until we left. Staying out late and whatnot. It was WAY WAY worth. Wouldn't take it back for anything!
Pictures below are from Tuesday Night. We hung out with the Boys and went over to JP's house. I curled Liz's Hair!!! Finally!!

Wednesday was our last day in Maryville. After we finished our Music Final we got a hold of Cody and chilled with him and the rest of the boys. We got them to come back to our room so we could clean. This is what happen. Look below!

The toxic waste.

Creamer. In our fridge since at least December. Eek.

Corndogs, about 4 weeks old....maybe older. They were hard.

Queso Dip only a week old, still good.....

My Yummy Salad I got at Napolis the Saturday before....too bad the toxic waste in the fridge made it all yucky. :(
Now this. We made some Pasta Chicken Stuff before Spring Break....well it was all moldy, you've got no idea. We didn't even try and salvage the containers.

Then we had a mini bonfire Wednesday night!
We burned Liz's book Doubt, which was needed for Comp. 112. We then moved it around and cooked hotdogs. Yes I actually ate a hotdog. It was good!

Then we ran out to the docks and layed there talking and the Moon was super pretty. I actually took this picture upside down
After that, when we were getting ready to leave the docks Liz came over to me and I "roundhouse kicked her in the face" haha NOT! I just lifted up my leg and kicked her head, either way it was awesome!

After that we went to our friend's apartment and well, some people drank I was NOT one of them. But LOOK!!!!!! We match!!!!!!!!! Freakin' Awesome Quad!
(Cody, Me, Liz, Brandon and Justine in the background)
We got back to the dorm around 3:30ish. Then because our orinigal plan was have Cody and Brandon help us pack then, Cody and I walked back to his dorm where Josh was, and he printed off some homework for the next day. Then it got the point we didn't want to walk all the back across campus. So we let the drunk kids (Liz and Brandon) sleep, and I slept on the futon in the boy's room. Brandon and I literally switched beds that night. Then we got up at 6am and walked back across campus then so that we could pack a bit and whatnot before Liz's Dad came. Which actually worked out pretty dang well. Liz left at like 9ish :( and I packed everything and said goodbye to everyone. We'd just met.
Liz and I were actually pretty sad to leave. No more roomie moment, and we had a lot! We were talking and sitting there wondering what we would've done had we met the new crew at the beginning of the year instead of the last week. I bet we'd probably both be staying. But Heck, everything happens for a reason. and a good reason too.

Well I'm home now! Yippee! Too bad I don't have an actual bed or places to put my things, but piles work. On the bright side,I got my 2nd letter from Rick, got to hang out with Danielle already, and I get to see COURTNEY CLARKSON tomorrow!!!! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SCRIPTURE POWER!!!!!!!!!!!

I forgot to tell you about my NEW favorite Primary Song!!!!
It's Scripture POWER!!
If you want to listen to it just push play in the yellow box of the lower right hand corner-ish, but you might want to make sure my other music is off first.

One thing though. The kids singing here, aren't nearly as into as they actually are.
I'm talkin' scriptures getting thrown in the air, Being hit with them (that's actually gotten a lot better), and let me tell you, they know the chorus like no other!
Then at the end they scream SCRIPTURE POWER!!!!!! As they wave there scriptures in the air!
It's great! I wish they had this song when i was in primary! The children definitely know about the power of scriptures!

Okay, Lyrics!

Because I want to be like the Savior ,and I can,
I'm reading his instructions, I'm following his plan.
Because I want the power his words will give to me,
I'm changing how I'll live, I'm changing what I'll be. (BUM BUM BUM BUM)

Chorus:
Scripture Power keeps me safe from sin.
Scripture Power is the power to win.
Scripture Power! Everyday I need
The Power that I get each time I read.

I'll find the sword of truth in each scripture that I'll learn,
I'll take the shield of faith from these pages that I turn.
I'll wear each vital part of the armor of the Lord,
And fight these daily battles, and win a great reward. (BUM BUM BUM BUM)

Chorus:
Scripture Power keeps me safe from sin.
Scripture Power is the power to win.
Scripture Power! Everyday I need
The Power that I get each time I read.

SCRIPTURE POWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love Primary!

I really do!
In the beginning it was WAY different because I had the calling with a team teacher, she actually took over the class then, but 2nd semester her family started going through a bit of a hard time so she goes home every weekend. WHICH left me with the girls.
Well on average five girls with the change of the year.

We've had our UPs and DOWNs it was kind of crazy at first. I really didn't want to teach them at all. I had just came from a VERY moody 5-year-old sister, and I'd mentored pre-school (ehh...NO) and first grade (so-so) all senior year. You see why I why looking on the downside of this. PLUS this was my first YSA year, of course in a family ward, I'd barely been in that sunday school, I think it's gospel principles... (see!!! I think I've been in there like 3 times! minus the holidays)but i wanted to get to know the branch and people in it, not their kids!
But....
long story short. I ended up loving! I don't have to go to sunday school! :) Which is great! I never paid attention there, and the back row of YSA's always were causing some kind of commotion. Plus in Primary you get to sing, and make crafts and whatnot. Even though having the Primary Program was very odd.
The first time i did sharing time it wasn't the best but that happens..... This time around it was about the restoration and Joseph finding the Truth and Light. I actually found this amazing website -------> http://www.sugardoodle.net/joomla/ where i got my sharing time from. We had a slideshow, following it a team quiz. I made it into a game. And one of the oldest got WAY too into the game. (he just turned 8, and knew all the answers) Then we'd play this find the Light game. Kind of like a memory game only we emphasized on how Joseph Smith was trying to find the truth and light, and he did so my scriptures, prayer, family, etc... (which were on the other cards)

OKAY....The real reason I wanted to blog.....
was from my lesson today. We had a special friend hid a very awesome letter in our classroom today. (not really, just to get their imagination going though...) but the letter actually really stood out to me.(bold-ed stood out the most) here it is:

“My dear friends

“ ‘I dare you!’ are words boys and girls often hear from friends who want you to prove to them that you are brave or strong or daring. They may ask you to do something that your parents or teachers have told you not to do—something that you know is wrong to do. I have learned that when we do something we know is wrong, we show weakness rather than strength. A person shows true bravery and strength only when he has the courage to do right.

“Once, when I was about seven years old, I had a pal whom I liked very much. We often walked home from school together. … We talked of being brave and of being able to do many things.

“Sometimes we would dare each other to jump across a ditch or to climb a tree just to prove that we were brave or that we could do things we had seen older boys and girls do.

“As we came to my home one day we stood out by the road and talked about who was the fastest runner in the school. … When I strongly insisted that I could run faster than my friend, he turned to me and said, ‘If you’re so fast, I dare you to run across the road before that car gets here!’

“I looked up the road and saw a car a short distance away. Without another word I dashed into the road to prove that I was fast and brave. A moment later the car’s brakes squealed! Its bumper hit me, and I landed in an unconscious heap.

“When I opened my eyes, my aching body, a hurt pride, and my mother’s anxious face made me realize that I had been neither fast nor brave. I had only been foolish. I had brought sadness to myself and to others. …

“The lesson I learned … has been valuable to me throughout my life. I learned that the only dare a person should ever accept is the DARE TO DO RIGHT.

“If you accept a dare to do something that is not right, something that Heavenly Father or your parents would not want you to do, you will be left with a sad and disappointed feeling. When you dare to do right you will have a good feeling about yourself.

“As one friend to another I encourage you to be obedient to your parents and to the teachings of the Lord. … By daring to do right you will become a friend of Jesus Christ and you will enjoy His greatest blessings.

“May you always DARE TO DO RIGHT.

“With love, your friend, Rex D. Pinegar” (“Friend to Friend,” Friend, Oct. 1974, pp. 10–11).

Crazy Right? A message for Younger kids can have a great meaning into our lives. And it was just that one little sentence that stood out. Good Message though. I think it really stood out to me because I've seen so many people go through hards times and they just give in to the weight of the world. Heck! or even just peer pressure. I would know! Northwest is one of the biggest drinking schools in Missouri. Yet, I've had many people/drunks tell me that they admire and respect me for not giving in my to peer pressure and whatnot, and then they always say "I couldn't do it" Which bothers me. If they were to just make up there mind and not change it for anything, and avoid the situation altogether, the problem would be solved!

Sigh...

okay now i need to go get on the homework, and get caught up and whatnot. bleh.

bright side, Last week of Classes!!!!!

I've had my Moments (Emerson Drive Lyric)

I had a GREAT weekend this past weekend!! It didn't really start until the late afternoon/evening. My friend Madison asked me the previous week if I'd go to the Chuck Wicks/Emerson Drive Concert with her, and of course I said I would, even though I had NO idea who either of them were.
Oh My GOODNESS!! They were both AMAZING! And I'm not even really a country fan. Oh a Chuck Wicks is pretty dang cute! But both artists and their songs were really good!! I'm very glad I went! Oh! something really funny! the whole time the fiddler/violinist from Emerson Drive was looking towards our group/area throughout the whole concert!!! AND he was AMAZING!
Here Below is the group of Girls I went with. Left to Right: Jessie, Me, Tabatha, and Madison. I knew everyone except Tabatha and she was Great to get to know, and she's very much like me!
After the Concert we went to the Station got something to drink and Popsicles. Then we just all hung out in front of the hall, called Dieterich and talked. Around 11pm Jessie had to leave to go do some homework, and then around Midnight Madison, Tabatha, and Myself traveled inside to the main lounge and continued our talking there. Madison left sometime, (I forgot) but Tabatha and I kept on talking until 2am! After that I walked back to my dorm (Millikan) and went to my friend, Adam's room, and we just sat and talked about the most random things for about 2 hours haha. that was great!

The next day, the YSA's cleaned the church building and then we had a breakfast there as well. That was good. I crashed when I got back to my room.
Later Saturday, after my nap, Madison sent me a text asking if I wanted to go to the Block Party. Which had an assortment of outdoor activities including inflatable ones! Of course I said YES! So we walked over there, and climbed the rope wall. (I won) The thing where you fight each other with big sticks (she won) Hung out with Shannel (a mutual friend) and then later Tabatha, and her roommate, Sarah came, and we did the rope wall again, and then did the Bungee Run, which I LOVE!!!!!! That is ALWAYS so much fun!!!

I got back to my dorm around 8:30ish and I checked my mailed, for the 3rd time that day, and there it was RICK'S LETTER!!!!!!!!! I was so ecstatic!! I got back to my room and was dancing around.
There will be another post VERY soon about the letter.
Picture below is me sending out my first letter!
